In addition to their accurate counting capacity, absolute encoders are capable of ‘remembering’ the position. If you have a power cut, you can see exactly at which point the process was interrupted. This means that you do not have to reset and that you can even determine the precise position if a rotation was not fully completed. These encoders are therefore often used in applications that are sometimes stationary or slow-moving. We supply absolute encoders for redundant models with double electronics or double or even triple assembly. You can choose between absolute single-turn and absolute multi-turn. The options include an overspeed switch, which is often used for cranes, and fully customized stainless steel solutions, for example. Naturally, you can opt for absolute encoders with reinforced bearings and high shock resistance, or for explosion-proof versions, with Intrinsic Safety Barriers if so required. Some models are even suitable for use under water, and the ES version is less sensitive to incorrect alignment due to its special construction.
